Clinch

Clinch takes the 'War on Talent' seriously and has built a company around the premise that employers need to proactively market themselves to attract and acquire the best talent. This mindfulness on employer branding is gaining traction in the talent acquisition space; Clinch makes a case of building a true candidate pipeline and activating passive candidates to deliver the right talent, at the right time, for the right employer. It's marketing solutions range from easy-to-create landing pages (careers site), social media campaigns, multimedia job postings and sourcing data. The striking difference and competitive advantage with Clinch is their approach to sourcing; they position their platform as a CRM (customer relationship management) system and their candidate pipeline as a sales funnel. Internal sourcers and recruiters typically 'strive' to build a candidate pipeline but have no way of tracking passive candidates, keeping them engaged, marketing to them and activating when needed. Additionally, Clinch is fully mobile enabled and connects with most Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

RATINGS: 4 OUT OF 5 STARS.

Strength: The platform, it's ease of use, the mobile capability and overall value are highly ranked by Clinch users. The range of reports is also a tool that has been unavailable to most users until now. The sourcing insights from the reports provide high value for employers. This type of marketing could help employers cast a wider, less bias net in their recruiting efforts. As we know, employers struggle connecting and engaging with diversity candidates- marketing campaigns targeting specific candidate populations and social media channels could greatly enhance the number of diversity applicants. Employers would also have an opportunity to communicate their values, their corporate principles and organizations goals on their career sites.

Weakness: Clinch is relatively new to the marketplace and it isn't clear how much support an employer receives from Clinch to create content, develop meaningful multimedia job postings, create and launch social media campaigns and most importantly how to apply a rigor around developing a candidate CRM and manage a candidate funnel. These processes are a way of working that employers need support implementing.

Best Use: Small and mid sized employers could benefits the most from using Clinch. These types of employers struggle the most to get recognized by passive and active candidates. Many times, top talent, won't apply to a role because they don't recognize the employer and have a hard time finding information on corporate values, culture, and company purpose. Clinch strives to create an opportunity for small and mid-sized employers to connect with top talent and make a great first impression. As with many courtships today, it's starts with an online presence.
