Jobbliss

JobBliss is a Freelancer Management System (FMS) that helps employers create, build and manage their own freelancer database. An employer's favorite freelancers are stored in the Little Black Book module allowing them easy access to on-demand talent. JobBliss also makes it easy to manage billing and invoicing creating a seamless process for internal staff to manage project-based, seasonal, experimental and extended workforce. Furthermore, employers often receive same-day responses from freelancers on open gigs. JobBliss is a tool contributing to the fast growth of the gig economy.

JobBliss helps freelancers manage their schedules through a simple and sleek module. Employer and freelancer engage and negotiate with each other without the support or added cost of a recruiter or staffing agency.

RATINGS: 3.5 OUT OF 5 STARS.

Strength:  JobBliss' super easy to use site allows freelancers to create an account in minutes and enables them to connect their LinkedIn profile. Businesses are able to manage all of their freelance needs, procure to pay, through one simple tool. The reduced cost of managing extended/non-employee workforce and the simplification of using one tool for sourcing rather than managing multiple agencies with different contracts, are important strengths to JobBliss' platform.

Weakness: JobBliss, unlike other more robust platforms, is not capable of working with an Enterprise organization with complex procurement systems and policies. JobBliss cannot integrate with other systems such as a Vendor Management System (VMS) which typically support all extended/non-employee workers as part of the open talent economy. Employers who already use staffing agencies, independent contractors, and other types of non-employee/extended workers cannot integrate JobBliss within their current systems and processes. JobBliss also cannot help to simplify or systemize the open talent economy for an employer that's just starting to dabble in this flexible workforce. Additionally, the inability to plug in with other systems limits JobBliss' market to start up and small companies.

Best Use: A start-up or small businesses experiencing rapid growth should look at implementing a Freelancer Management System such as JobBliss to have easy and rapid access to freelancers to manage workforce shortages, project work, experimental roles, etc. Staffing agency and recruiter fees are a heavy cost for small growing companies.  Often times in start-ups and small companies,  staff wear multiple hats; the CFO is also the Head of HR and the Procurement VP, the Sales Manager is also the Customer Service and QA Manager. In that spirit, staff can pitch in to work the FSM and find freelancers for urgent needs. This type of 'scrappiness' coupled with a good management platform such as JobBliss, an employer could utilize freelancers and deliver very strong ROIs.

It would also serve this type of business to look at employer branding tools such as Clinch to help develop a strong marketing message that freelancers, other non-employee workers and top permanent talent can easily access.
